In the last 52 years we have seen the large scale changes within our industry. One of the largest and most welcomed changes is the tightening of health and safety regulations. Here at Thornton R Ltd we are committed to developing a proactive health and safety culture through the promotion of training and communication in the work place. The avoidance of accidents and the provision of a safe and healthy workplace are common objectives shared by our employees, customers, suppliers and our contractors in all of our areas of business.
We are a CHAS registered company and members of construction line and CPA. Our entire on site operatives currently hold CPCS cards, CSCS cards and our demolition operatives hold CCDO cards. We employ a Health and Safety company who have an overview of all our health and safety training, policies and education within in the company and undertake weekly onsite audits on all our sites to ensure that our health and safety procedures and protocols are being carried out to the highest possible standards. When undertaking any contracts we prepare a draft health and safety plan at tender stage. The health and safety plan covers all aspects of the contract with regard to health and safety this includes:
This health and safety plan will be submitted at tender stage to the client, allowing the client to see our dedicated and professional approach that we uphold here at Thornton R Ltd. On award of contract, a full Health and Safety plan will be compiled including all risk assessments and method statements for the associated works. When on site health and safety issues are communicated through a number of different mediums, we have found the most successful of these being 'tool box talks'. We are also CHAS compliant.
